Intoxicated man arrested at hardware store


Police responded to Ace Hardware in reference to an intoxicated man inside. Police made contact with the man on July 25 at 8:11 p.m.

Gerardo Morales, 51, of Storm Lake allegedly was not able to pay for his merchandise due to being highly intoxicated.

Morales was charged with public intoxication (third offense).

He was booked into the county jail on a $2,000 bond.

 

Intoxicated man reportedly trespasses


Police responded to a trespassing call at 509 Oneida St.

The reporting party told police her neighbor, Jay Jay, 35, of Storm Lake had approached the front porch while allegedly intoxicated on July 27 at 12:24 p.m.

Jay was using romantic overtones toward the reporting party, according to police. The reporting party told Jay to leave and upon attempting to close the door, he blocked it with his foot.

Jay left the scene but returned soon after where he was arrested. Jay was charged with criminal trespass and third-degree harassment.

He was booked into the country jail on a $600 bond.

 

Woman charged with public intoxication


Police responded to the 700 block of Maywood Drive in reference to an intoxicated woman attempting to acquire beer from neighbors on July 27 at 10 a.m.

Ny Chea, 58, of Storm Lake, was charged with public intoxication (third offense). Chea was booked into the county jail on a $2,000 bond.

 

Man charged with assault


Police responded to McDonalds in reference to an assault July 26 at 12:40 a.m.

The reporting party told police she was employed at the business and was in an argument with a fellow employee. Nester Turcios, 30, of Storm Lake, and the reporting party had a dispute over work duties. The reporting party said Turcios physically assaulted her. Management then sent Turcios home.

Police arrested Turcios near the intersection of East Fourth and Hudson streets.

Turcios was charged with assault and booked into the county jail on a $300 bond.

 

Teens charged with possession of alcohol


Officers on patrol observed two people allegedly drinking alcohol in a vehicle outside of Malarky’s Night Club July 25 at 11:37 p.m. Police made contact with Etson Ladore, 19, and Rivaldo Samuel, 19, both of Storm Lake.

After an investigation both were charged with possession of alcohol. Both men were cited and released pending a court date.

 

Man arrested for OWI


On July 26 at 12:03 a.m. police stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of East Lakeshore Drive. Upon contacting the driver, Arnold Xiong, 21, of Storm Lake, was arrested and charged with OWI (second offense). He was booked on a $2,000 bond.

Police investigated the passenger of the vehicle. Alex Mangmoradeth, 18, of Storm Lake, was in possession of alcohol. Police charged Mangmoradeth with possession of alcohol. He was cited and released pending a court date.
