Newell-Fonda scores 17 runs in first inning to wallop CC-Everly

Newell-Fonda left little doubt about whether it would survive in the first round of the Class 1A district baseball tournament.

The Mustangs scored 17 runs in the first inning, including 11 before the first out was made, and went on to defeat Clay Central-Everly 22-1 last Saturday night at Alta.

Newell-Fonda, now 3-23, played Alta-Aurelia (16-11) on Tuesday night in Alta.
