SL man cited for screaming at nursing home staff


An assault was reported at 917 Erie St. on Friday night at 8:31 p.m.

Tom Henderson, 51, of Storm Lake, was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was booked into the county jail and was held without bond.

On Saturday, June 29 at 12:02 p.m. police were called to North Lake Manor because of another disturbance.

Police learned from staff that Tom Henderson, after being released from the county jail, came to North Lake Manor and caused a disturbance by screaming at staff and slamming doors.

Police arrested Henderson at the scene and charged him with disorderly conduct. He was processed and released pending a court date.         

 

Public intox charge leads to demand of jury trial


Police conducted a bar check at Puff’s on East Lakeshore Drive at 1 a.m. Sunday and observed a man being restrained following an argument with another person.

Police identified the man as Michael Pertzborn Jr., 29, of Denver, Colo., and arrested him, charging him with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was booked into the county jail on a $600 bond.

Pertzborn’s attorney Steve Hamilton said his client would contest the charges and will demand a jury trial.

 

Fight lands trio in jail


A fight was reported to police on Saturday at 1:15 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Lakeshore Drive between two women and a man.

The two women, Amanda Vaughn, 24, of Sac City and Lindsey Dirks, 18, of Lakeview and the man, Cody Dupre, 23, of Wall Lake, were identified.

Police say Dupre fled on foot before a brief foot pursuit ensued and he was caught.

All three were engaged in a disturbance and police arrested them. Dirks resisted officers but was subdued.

Police charged Dupre and Dirks with interference with official acts, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

They were booked into the county jail on a $900 bond each.

Vaughn was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. She was booked on a $600 bond.

No injuries were reported.

 

Man charged with forgery


Police made an arrest following an investigation into the alleged use of false documents.

Police say Rolando Garcia Mancia, 28, of Storm Lake, had possessed and used false documents in order to attain employment in Storm Lake and surrounding areas.

At 4 p.m. Saturday police arrested Garcia Mancia at 510 Western Ave. and charged him with forgery.

He was booked into the county jail on a $5,000 bond.         

 

Teen charged wtih theft


Police made an arrest on Thursday at 2:50 p.m. in connection with a theft.

Police on June 21 took a report of an alleged theft at China House on West Milwaukee Avenue where it was reported that two people left without paying for their food.

On Thursday, police charged a 16-year-old boy of Schleswig with theft and he was processed and released to a parent pending a court date.

Additional arrests are anticipated.
