St. Mary’s scores early and often in lopsided 17-2 victory over Clay Central-Everly

Aaron Miller and Eric Broich combined to toss a two-hitter and Alex Smith drove in four runs as Storm Lake St. Mary’s snapped a three-game losing streak with a 17-2 win over Clay Central-Everly last Thursday at Memorial Field.

St. Mary’s scored four runs in the first inning on an RBI single by Ryan Peters and a two-run double by Alex Smith. There were also three walks and an error in the inning.

The Panthers scored five runs on one hit in the second inning, a double by Aaron Miller. St. Mary’s capitalized on four walks and a hit batter in the frame.
