Prairie Valley scores 3 runs in 8th inning to clip St. Mary’s, 4-1

Prairie Valley scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie and it went on to beat Storm Lake St. Mary’s 4-1 in a Twin Lakes Conference game last Friday night.

Each team scored a run in the third inning before the Warriors plated three runs in the eighth. St. Mary’s had six hits, including three by Mackenzie Laven. She drove in the lone run with a double. Rachel Todd, Allie Hartmann and Riley Lenhart each added a single.

Todd took the loss. She allowed six hits and no earned runs, walked none and struck out five over eight innings.
