Tornadoes beat Poky 11-10 for first victory in just over 2 years

All the agony of 49 games and two years and a day were wiped away with one gutsy baserunning move by Naomi Castillo.

The Storm Lake sophomore went on contact, scoring from third base on a ground ball back to the pitcher to give the Tornadoes an 11-10 win over Pocahontas Area in the consolation game of the Storm Lake Invitational last Saturday.

The win snapped a 49-game losing streak dating back to June 6, 2012 when Storm Lake beat Cherokee.
