Doughnuts for the masses

National Doughnut Day was a success in Storm Lake with 1,000 doughnuts and 1,320 doughnut holes going out the door at Storm Lake Bakery Friday. “I don’t know how everybody knows about this,” said bakery owner Lisa Funk, “but this is the day when parents let their kids come in and buy a box of doughnuts.” A new experiment Friday was the strawberry glazed doughnuts. Real, fresh strawberries were in the glaze, in which the hot, fresh doughnuts were dipped.
