BVU pitcher Harris drafted in 27th round by Phillies
First Beaver drafted since 1968
It has been a long time since a Buena Vista baseball player has been drafted to play professional ball by a major league organization.
In fact, it was Larry Biitner who was selected by the Washington Senators in 1968.
Forty-six years later, Buena Vista starting pitcher Scott Harris had his name called as the junior left-hander was selected in the 27th round of the Major League Baseball Draft last Saturday by the Philadelphia Phillies. Harris was the 802nd overall selection.
