St. Mary’s holds off late rallies to beat Pocahontas

Aaron Miller allowed just two hits over 51⁄3 innings to help Storm Lake St. Mary’s get past Pocahontas Area 4-3 on Wednesday at Memorial Field.

The Panthers scored three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead with RBI singles by Alex Smith and Joe Kottke. A third run scored on an error.

St. Mary’s added an insurance run in the fifth after a leadoff triple by Cole Feltner. He then scored on a wild pitch.
