Man found at railroad tracks four times over alcohol limit

Police received a report of a man lying on the railroad tracks in the 200 block of Flindt Drive on Tuesday at 8:04 p.m.

Police identified the man sitting near the railroad tracks just east of the railroad overpass as Armando Sarmiento, 58, of Storm Lake.

Sarmiento was four times the legal limit for intoxication and became disorientated after leaving a friend’s home and ended up on the railroad tracks.

Sarmiento was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. He was then charged with public intoxication and held on $300 bond.
