Mother cited after child falls into fire

Police: Children were unattended

A Storm Lake mother has been charged with child endangerment after leaving her children unattended around a fire.

Police say that four children, ages eight, six and four-year-old twins were with their mother on Saturday night. A recreational fire was burning in the yard and the mother left the four children unattended in the yard.

One of the four-year-old children fell into the fire and was pulled out by an older sibling. The children told their mother, which led her to take them to the hospital.

The mother, Andrea Eades-Hogrefe, 37, of Storm Lake was arrested Tuesday at 2 a.m. and charged with child endangerment and booked on $5,000 bond.

A report was filed with the Iowa Department of Human Services.
