Three suspects named from early-morning assault, chase


Police were called to 1007 Lake Ave. Monday morning at 3:19 a.m. because of an assault.

Police met with the victim who said he invited several people to his residence early in the night. At 3 a.m. one of the invited guests reportedly got into a disagreement with the victim and assaulted him.

The suspect and his two friends exited the residence, at which time the suspect broke out a window. The three men fled.

While police were on the scene the three men were observed in the rear of the victim’s residence. Police chased the three men and apprehended one of them behind the Buena Vista Auto Sales Office, near the intersection of Lake Avenue and West 10th Street.

Police identified the man as Braeden Bailey, 19, of Rembrandt. The other two fled on foot.

Bailey was charged with criminal mischief, public intoxication and interference with official acts. He was booked into the county jail on a $900 bond.

At 9:30 a.m. Monday morning police located another suspect, Bidong Yak, 19, of Storm Lake at 1704 Tulip Lane.

Yak was charged with interference with official acts and booked into BV County Jail on a $300 bond.

A third suspect, Dante Putnam, 19, of Storm Lake was arrested at 3:25 p.m. Monday afternoon at 1026 Lake Ave.

Putnam was charged with assault and interference with official acts. Police have learned that Putnam was wanted out of O’Brien County on the charge of assault causing bodily harm.

He was booked into the county jail on a $1,600 bond.

 

Man charged with Walmart theft


A theft was reported from the Storm Lake Walmart on Thursday afternoon at 1:02 p.m.

Police met with store staff who were detaining a person who allegedly stole $40 in merchandise.

The suspect was identified as Christian Quintero, 25, of Storm Lake.

Police arrested Quintero and charged him with theft. He was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a $300 bond.

 

Wanted men found


A wanted person was located Thursday afternoon at 4:11 p.m. after a police officer stopped a vehicle on Sunrise Park Road.

Police made contact with Brian Miller, 44, of Lakeside, who was wanted out of Clay County on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court in reference to a theft.

He was booked into the county jail and was later released pending a court date.

Police located a wanted person at 711 Grand Ave. on Thursday night at 10:45 p.m.

Police located and arrested Ketzell Zeledon, 22, of Storm Lake, who was wanted out of Dickinson County on charges of failure to appear in court in reference to failure to affix a drug tax stamp, manufacturing marijuana, keeping a premise for the purpose of using/keeping controlled substances and possession of marijuana.

He was also wanted out of Dickinson County on the charge of contempt of court in reference to driving while barred.

Zeledon was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a $12,500 bond.
