Man cited after jumping over counter, chasing the bartender

Police received a call that a patron at Mo’s Bar was attempting to assault the bartender Sunday night at 9:30 p.m.

Police were told by witnesses that two men, Bret Lacher, 28, of Davenport and Jermey Greve, 35, of Clinton were involved in the incident.

Police were told that Lacher allegedly got into a disagreement with the bartender and threatened to assault him. He reportedly jumped over the bar, falling onto some liquor bottles and then chased the bartender around the bar.

Police charged Lacher with public intoxication, harassment, assault, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

He was booked into the county jail on a $1,500 bond.

Police say that Greve was intoxicated and charged him with public intoxication. He was booked into the county jail on a $300 bond. No injuries were reported.


No contact order violation

A no contact order was violated Thursday at 6:45 p.m.

Police were told Michael Hansen, 21, of Early had sent text messages to his wife, which violated a no contact order.

Police arrested Hansen at the police station and charged him with violation of a no contact order. He was booked into Buena Vista County Jail and was held without bond.         


Wanted person jailed

A wanted person was located at 205 West Sixth St. on Sunday at 10:15 p.m.

Police arrested Aihlee Jamad Bouttte, 19, of Storm Lake who was wanted out of Buena Vista County for contempt of court in reference to failure to pay fines.

Boutte was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a $3,012.75 bond.


Man charged with disorderly conduct

Police were called to 115 West Second St. on Friday at 10:20 p.m., where they met with a person who said his estranged wife and her boyfriend came to his apartment to see the children. When visitation was denied, the boyfriend, Mario De La Paz, 29, of Storm Lake began pounding on the reporting party’s door and yelling for him to exit the apartment and fight.

De La Paz fled from the scene when police were called.

Police conducted an investigation and shortly after the incident located Da La Paz at 208 Highway St. where he was arrested without incident.

Police charged De La Paz with disorderly conduct and booked him on a $300 bond.


SL police find drug paraphernalia in apartment

Police were called to 706 Geneseo St. when a loud music complaint was made Saturday morning at 1 a.m.

Police spoke to the tenants  in order to have them turn down the music, when police observed drug paraphernalia on a coffee table in the living room. Police arrested Sammy Martinez, 37, of Storm Lake at the apartment and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Martinez was booked into the county jail on a $300 bond.


Three teens jailed after shoplifting spree

Shoplifters were detained at Walmart on Saturday at 10:21 p.m. Store staff said that three people were detained when they allegedly used a device to defeat the security on X-Box games. Store security detained the three suspects and recovered over $70 in stolen merchandise.

They were identified as Keaton Verner, 18, Colton Vreeman, 18, and Kylen Thelen, 18, all of Spencer. Police charged Vreeman and Thelen with theft and removal of theft detection devices. They were each booked into the county jail on a $600 bond.Verner was charged with theft and was booked on $300 bond.


Knife found in traffic stop

A vehicle was stopped in the 1400 block of Lake Avenue for a traffic violation at 3:34 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Police say they observed a sheathed knife with a 7.5’’ blade on the rear floor board of the vehicle.

Police seized the weapon, along with a second knife with a 17.5’’ blade on the rear seat of the vehicle.

In addition, an open bottle was located and seized.

Police arrested Aung Tun, 21, of Storm Lake and charged him with carrying weapons and open container.

He was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,300 bond.
