AC home burglary leads to 2 arrests

Stolen firearms, electronics add up to $3,000        

A burglary was reported to the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office on April 18 after an Albert City residence was robbed of numerous firearms, electronics and military uniforms.

An investigation into the incident resulted in the arrest of a man and woman from Marathon.

Douglas Strange, 28, was arrested on April 21 in Laurens and Heidi Holston, 26, was arrested after a search warrant was executed at her residence in Marathon.

The stolen weapons were recovered along with some other stolen property from the burglary in both Buena Vista and Pocahontas counties. The total value of the items stolen was estimated at $3,000.

Holston was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Holston is being held in the Buena Vista County Jail.

Strange was charged with trafficking in stolen firearms, theft and burglary. Strange is being held on a $10,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
