Meth bust in Storm Lake

Police made an arrest Friday night at 410 West Eighth St. in connection with an investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in Storm Lake.

Police tried to make contact with Keoothany “Tony” Thongvanh, 33, of Storm Lake. Police say that Thongvanh was in the garage and after seeing police, fled. Police apprehended him.

Police executed a search warrant at 1:30 a.m. Saturday and found methamphetamine packaged for street sales, a scale, paraphernalia and packaging materials.

According to police, on March 28, Thongvanh was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a parole check at his residence. Police charged Thongvanh in connection with both incidents. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and subsequent offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the county jail on a $50,000 bond.

Police filed a report with the Iowa Department of Human Services as three small children, who were not present during the arrest, live at the residence.
