Long ball hurts BVU in twin-bill sweep at hands of Dubuque

The University of Dubuque used the long ball to its advantage, blasting six home runs total en route to 10-3 and 10-7 victories over the Buena Vista softball team to begin Iowa Conference play on Tuesday in Storm Lake.

In game one, the Spartans took a 1-0 lead in the first inning by scoring a run on a BVU fielding error. The lead grew to 4-0 in the second when they got an RBI single followed by a two-run single.
