Police hunt pair in kidnap attempt
Children say two men tried to lure them into SUV
Storm Lake Police are asking for assistance in locating people in connection with an alleged attempted abduction of two children in Storm Lake.
Police were told by a nine-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl that they were walking home from school at 3:45 p.m. in the 800 block of East Eighth Street Thursday.
A gray Traverse-style crossover vehicle occupied by two Hispanic males in their mid-twenties reportedly asked the children if they wanted candy and asked them to get into the SUV.
The passenger was wearing a white shirt and had a moustache.
The children did not go with them and walked home. They reported the incident to their mother, who called the police. The victims told police the men did not grab them or force them into the vehicle.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the attempted abduction to call Storm Lake Police at 712-732-8010.
