N-F’s Maneman repeat selection as Times Player of the Year

Newell-Fonda point guard Renee Maneman

was the premier player in the area this season.

She averaged 15.4 points, 5.6 assists,

4.5 steals and 5.0 rebounds a game.


There are many criteria to judge basketball players on. Scoring, all-around play, leadership, winning. And while she didn’t score as many points as others, Renee Maneman possessed all of those traits.

She was the unquestioned leader of a team that personified winning and had the rare ability to make everyone around her better. It is for all of those reasons that the     Newell-Fonda senior point guard is a repeat selection as The Times Player of the Year for 2014.

Her coach, Dick Jungers, measured Maneman’s impact on the Mustangs’ team this season.
