Extra year helps get them on track to better careers

Talk to young people who have benefited from the Storm Lake Charter School and it becomes clear why students, teachers and administrators worked overtime to keep the program alive.

Take Victor Loera, a 2011 graduate. He’s working full time at Wiese Plumbing and Heating in Storm Lake. “It’s a big opportunity,” he says of the charter school. “People should take it.”
