Fight breaks out at Storm Lake Middle School

On Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. police took a report of a fight at Storm Lake Middle School.

Police were told by school administrators that two 11-year-old boys of Storm Lake got into a fight in the school gym.

Police charged both juveniles with disorderly conduct and they were released to a parent pending a court date.


Wanted man jailed

Police were called to 513 East 12th St. at 12:49 p.m. Wednesday to locate a wanted person.

Police arrested Damien Fisher, 22, of Storm Lake, who was wanted on multiple warrants charging him with failure to appear in court in reference to supplying alcohol to a minor, gathering where marijuana is used and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fisher was booked into the county jail on a $2,000 bond.


Storm Lake man jailed on multiple charges

At 3:11 p.m. Wednesday afternoon police were called to 1111 West Fifth St. because of a wanted person being located.

Police arrested Martin De Jesus Cruz, 23, of Storm Lake, who was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in reference to failure to pay fines and sexual abuse.

He was booked on a $2,186 bond.


Man charged with public intoxication, harassment

Police were called to 1717 Tulip Lane #11 Sunday night at 7:25 p.m. after a report that a person was outside of an apartment and that someone was in danger.

Police spoke with the reporting party who said that Klaw Moo, 19, of Storm Lake, had come to the apartment and reportedly was attempting to get one of the apartment’s occupants to fight with him.

Police arrested Moo at the scene and charged him with harassment, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

He was booked into BV County Jail on a $900 bond. No injuries were reported.


Man arrested after allegedly driving drunk

A police officer stopped a vehicle at 9:54 p.m. Sunday night in the 300 block of Flindt Drive because the driver was driving in an erratic manner.

The driver, Koua Yang, 22, of Storm Lake was allegedly intoxicated. Yang was asked to exit the vehicle and did not comply with officers’ requests.

Police then had to forcibly remove Yang from the vehicle, at which time he was taken into custody. Police charged Yang with OWI and interference with official acts.

He was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,300 bond.


Wanted man jailed

On Feb. 28 police were called to the Super 8 Motel to locate a wanted person.

Police arrested Rich Sassman, 46, of Storm Lake. Sassman was wanted on a warrant in reference to an OWI out of BV County. Sassman was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and was held without bond.
