Wanted SL man jailed
Police were called to 1322 Erie St. #6 Wednesday night because of a criminal trespass.
Police arrived and were told that two men entered an apartment that was believed to be vacant.
Police made contact with the men and determined one of them was a previous occupant and may have had permission to be in the apartment.
That remains under investigation.
Police identified one of the two men as Cassius Marcellous Murray Jr., 27, of Storm Lake.
Police learned that Murray was wanted out of Buena Vista County in reference to violation of probation.
Police arrested Murray without incident and booked him into the Buena Vista County Jail where he was held without bond.
Additional charges are possible.
Intoxicated woman arrested at night club
Storm Lake Police conducted a bar check of Malarky’s Night Club Saturday morning at 1:20 a.m.
Police observed a female allegedly having problems standing. She appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
The woman was identified as Christina Steemke, 27, of Alta.
Police arrested Steemke and upon taking her into custody she resisted and became combative.
Police charged her with public intoxication and interference with official acts.
She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $600 bond.
Fight leads to arrest
A bar check was done at Malarky’s Night Club Sunday morning at 1:56 a.m.
Police observed a man allegedly shove another patron and argue with night club staff who were asking him to leave.
Police intervened and took the man into custody, at which time he resisted and was subdued.
Police identified the man as Matthew Wunschel, 23, of Early.
Wunschel was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and interference with official acts.
He was booked on a $900 bond.
No injuries were reported.
Woman reportedly steals from Walmart
A theft was reported Sunday morning at Walmart.
Police were told that a woman pushed a cart full of merchandise out of the store without paying for it.
Police were able to identify the subject as Ann Klugherz, 46, of Schaller and at 12 p.m. Sunday, police questioned Klugherz at the Storm Lake Police Station.
She was charged with theft and was released pending a court date.
