It’s tough to win basketball games scoring only four points in a half. It’s even tougher when a team scores zero points in a quarter.

That’s what happened to Storm Lake in the first half of a 40-19 setback to Emmetsburg in a Lakes Conference game on Tuesday night at Tornado Fieldhouse.

Emmetsburg led 6-0 after the first quarter. It was 18-4 E’Hawks at halftime and 22-14 entering the fourth period of play.

Dezirae Reyes led Storm Lake with nine points. Rylee James scored five points and Madison Gaffney three. Hayle Lindquist netted two points for the Tornadoes.
