SL girls suffer Lakes setback to Emmetsburg

Emmetsburg outscored Storm Lake 18-6 in the first quarter and the E’Hawks never looked back as they handed Storm Lake a 60-14 setback in a Lakes Conference game played on Tuesday night at Emmetsburg.

Emmetsburg held a 39-12 lead at halftime and led 49-14 going into the fourth quarter of play.

Naomi Castillo led Storm Lake with six points. Madison Gaffney scored four. Nyajouk Lam and Diew Tay each added two points. Haylee Lindquist tallied two steals.

Storm Lake made 4 of 33 field goals in the game for 12 percent.
