Slow start hurts Sioux Central girls in season opener

South O’Brien outscored Sioux Central 15-1 in the first quarter as the Wolverines went on to spoil Sioux Central’s season opener with a 41-27 win last Friday night at Sioux Rapids.

South O’Brien held a 24-13 lead after the second quarter and led 32-22 heading into the fourth period of play.

Nicole Hamilton led Sioux Central with eight points. Bailey McGuire, Mackenzie Keune and Michelle Stoner all added three.

Erin Rachuy, Nicole Scharn, Masey Nelson, Mallory Bjork and Mikayla Landsness all scored two points.
