5 arrested in Laurens weed bust

After an extensive investigation by the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was issued for a residence in Laurens that resulted in the discovery of a home marijuana growing operation and five Laurens residents arrested.

A search warrant was executed at a residence belonging to Adrianna Schossow and Mario J. Neither at 403 N. Third St. in Laurens Friday night.

Once police were inside the home, officers located four individuals in the basement of the home smoking marijuana.

Several marijuana plants were found growing in another section of the basement.

Mario J. Neither, 30, was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, two counts of failure to affix a drug stamp, five counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, child endangerment, keeping a premises for the use of a controlled substance and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Adrianna K. Schossow, 22, was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and child endangerment.

Demetrius D. Washington, 36, of Laurens, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kristin Dee Amos Ross, 28, of Laurens, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.         

Kay Ann Richards, 41, was charged with possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Neither is being held on $22,300 bond.

Washington is being held on $7,300 bond.

Kristin Ross was released after posting bond of $1,300.

Richards and Schossow were released on their own recognizance the next morning.

The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted with the search warrant by the Storm Lake Police Department’s Entry Team and by the Laurens Police Department.
