Storm Lake Police seeking the community's assistance UPDATE
Robert Fry, 50, of Lytton, Iowa has been arrested in connection with a series of residential burglaries at apartment complexes.
Storm Lake Police were notified by an employee at a local jewelry store that some of the stolen jewelry may have been pawned at their establishment.
Police were able to identify the pawned items as stolen property and were able to identify Fry as a suspect from that transaction.
Police searched Fry's residence at 513 Main Street in Lytton and located and seized possible burglary tools, jewelry and clothing.
Fry was at the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
Police returned Fry to Storm Lake Tuesday and held him on $59,000 bond.
Storm Lake Police report that they are investigating an additional residential burglary which occurred at an apartment complex at 209 E. Lakeshore Drive #4 on Monday afternoon.
Witnesses to this incident describe the suspect as a white male, late 20’s to early 30’s, wearing a dark or navy coat over a grey shirt or sweatshirt. On previous occasions (see below) the suspect was also reportedly carrying loose paperwork and possibly wearing a ball cap.
Police continue to look for a suspect vehicle described as a dark colored sedan, possibly an early 2000 Buick.
In yesterday’s incident, the resident came home and was confronted by the burglar inside her apartment at which time the suspect fled and the victim was unharmed.
Storm Lake Police continue to ask the public’s assistance in locating the suspect and ask residents and visitors to local apartment complexes to be especially vigilant for the above described suspected vehicle.
Anyone having information in connection with these incidents, or anyone who sees a person and vehicle matching this description, especially near an apartment complex, is asked to call 911 immediately.

Storm Lake Police are investigating the following incidents:
On October 26, 2013 a burglary was reported at 209 East Lakeshore Drive #4 where cash was stolen from the apartment.
On October 28, 2013 an attempted burglary was reported at 605 Chautauqua Park #2.
On October 28, 2013 a burglary was reported at 605 Chautauqua Park #1 where cash was taken from the apartment.
On November 1, 2013 a burglary was reported at 1522 West 5th Street #1 where jewelry and cash were stolen from the apartment.
On November 1, 2013 an attempted burglary was reported at 1809 West 5th Street #4.
Police report the incidents appear to be occurring during the daytime and early evening hours.
A suspicious person was seen at the 1809 West 5th Street address described as a white male, late 20’s to early 30’s carrying loose paper. The person was wearing a dark jacket and white ball cap. The person was walking the halls of the complex and departed in what is described as a dark blue sedan, possibly a Buick. Police are unsure if this person is involved in any of the burglary incidents.
Storm Lake Police are asking anyone with information to contact the police department at 712-732-8010. In addition anyone observing suspicious persons or activity in or near their residential complexes is asked to call 911 immediately.
