Fight leaves two with injuries

A fight was reported to police at the intersection of West Eighth Street and Ontario Street on Sunday at 12:51 p.m.

Police arrived and took Genevieve Reyes, 26, of Storm Lake, into custody.

Police also took a male, Rolando Polendo, 31, of Storm Lake, into custody at which time he refused officers’ commands and had to be physically restrained by police.

An investigation alleges that Reyes was driving down the street at which time she saw her boyfriend with another woman.

Reyes stopped her vehicle and approached the vehicle where her boyfriend and another female were located.

Reyes entered Polendo’s vehicle and physically assaulted the woman who was with Polendo. Polendo then exited his vehicle and physically assaulted Reyes.

Both Reyes and Polendo received minor injuries during the incident.

BV County Paramedics responded to the scene and provided care to both Reyes and Polendo.

After an investigation police charged Reyes with burglary and disorderly conduct. She was booked on a $10,300 cash bond.

Police charged Polendo with domestic assault causing injury, disorderly conduct and interference with official acts.

He was booked into the county jail and held without bond.


Wanted man arrested

On Saturday at 9:07 p.m. a police officer on patrol ran a registration check on a vehicle that reflected the owner of the vehicle was wanted.

Police stopped the vehicle in the 600 block of West Milwaukee Ave. and made contact with Sefton Royd Akin, 33, of Storm Lake.

Police were told that Akin was wanted out of Estherville on the charge of violation of a no contact order.

Akin was arrested and booked on a $2,000 bond.


Marijuana found in traffic stop

A police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense on Sunday morning.

Police say they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The passenger in the vehicle, JT Cunningham III, 25, of Storm Lake, was in possession of marijuana. Police seized a small amount of marijuana.

Police arrested Cunningham and charged him with possession of marijuana. He was booked on a $2,000 bond.
