Tornadoes hope to be amped for homecoming

Something caught Craig Lyon’s eye when he watched No. 1-ranked Sioux City Heelan on tape this week.

They never panicked. Then again, the Crusaders have never had to.

Storm Lake will welcome the state’s top-ranked team in Class 3A for homecoming tonight when the two square off at Tornado Stadium in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Lyon said Heelan, who is averaging 46.4 points a game on offense, is the total package.
