Two arrested after chase to sheriff’s office

On Saturday at 4 a.m. the Storm Lake Police Department was sent to the 200 block of West Ninth Street because of a disturbance.

Officers were advised that a victim from the disturbance fled from West Ninth Street and drove to the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Department parking lot with suspects allegedly chasing him. The suspects fled when the victim pulled into the sheriff’s office parking lot.

A Buena Vista County Deputy observed the suspect vehicle and stopped it at East Lakeshore Drive and 120th.

Storm Lake Police conducted an investigation and allege the two men in the vehicle that the sheriff’s department stopped were attempting to start a fight on West Ninth Street.

Police arrested the two occupants in the vehicle and identified them as Jamie Soria, 21, of Lakeside and David Maldonado, 23, of Storm Lake. Police charged both men with disorderly conduct and booked them into Buena Vista County Jail on a $300 bond each.
