New superfood is a big seller at farmer’s market

Patty picks from the four-year-old bushes.

When full grown they can produce 30 pounds per bush.

It’s a superfood and now it’s available fresh at the Storm Lake Farmer’s Market. Four years ago, Bob and Patty Peterson, who live along the northern border of Buena Vista County, planted aronia berry bushes. This summer the bushes are bearing. The Petersons brought them to the farmer’s market for the first time last Saturday, and sold out.
