Fight lands several in jail
A man brandishing a golf club was arrested along with several others on Tuesday afternoon following a fight involving a large group of people at the 400 block of West Eighth Street.
When police arrived at 3:47 p.m. they observed a man wielding a golf club at several people as well as several other people screaming and engaging in a fight.
As an officer exited his vehicle the person with the golf club fled on foot and a pursuit ensued. The subject was a 17-year-old minor from Storm Lake.
Police took several people into custody and several were detained for questioning. Police further report a number of participants fled as police arrived.
Police allege that a group of people followed a second group from Storm Lake High School and engaged in a fight on West Eighth Street.
The incident is connected to a disagreement which happened over the weekend.
Police charged the minor with going armed with intent, interference with official acts and disorderly conduct. He was processed and transported to the Youth Detention Center in Cherokee.
Police further arrested Aung Thu, 18, Phya Aung, 20, and Mooler Lu, 20, all from Storm Lake and charged all three with rioting and disorderly conduct.
They were all booked on a $2,300 cash bond.
