BVU women can’t overcome deficit

Sam Richards put Buena Vista on the scoreboard late in the first half, but the Beavers couldn’t overcome an early 4-0 deficit en route to a 7-1 setback to Nebraska Wesleyan in a women’s soccer game on Wednesday in Lincoln, Neb.

The Prarie Wolves grabbed a 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the match before goals during the 34th and 39th minute, respectively, made it 4-0.

Richards broke the shutout with 5 minutes to go in the half off a free kick.
