BV, Sac farms get $50M in drought claims from 2012

Buena Vista and Sac County farms received nearly $50 million in claims checks from Federal Crop Insurance last year because of drought.

Federal Crop Insurance paid BV County farms $13,179,941 in 2012, mainly for losses due to heat and drought. Hail damage amounted to $832,000.
