4 men arrested after stake-out

Storm Lake Police arrested four men this week in connection with a conspiracy to sell marijuana in the community.

Storm Lake Police received information from the United States Postal Inspectors Office that a suspicious package had been intercepted that was mailed from California to a West Fifth Street address in Storm Lake.

The Postal Inspectors Office was given a search warrant and found that two pounds of high-grade marijuana with a street value of $10,000 was set to be mailed to 600 West Fifth St.

After conducting a controlled delivery, police surveillance teams outside the residence arrested three adult males leaving the house with the package.

Derrick Roberts,45, of Storm Lake, Phat Boonkhong, 28, of Storm Lake and Larry Walker, 35, of Storm Lake were all arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.

At 11:15 p.m. police searched 901 Pinecrest Dr. where additional documentation on package shipping was located.

Nearly $1,700 worth of cash was seized during the investigation, which is believed to come from selling illegal drugs.
