Mustangs take advantage of 8 errors to win, 14-1

It would be a fair statement to say Remsen St. Mary’s had never seen a team put so much pressure on its defense the way that Newell-Fonda did.

The Mustangs forced the Hawks into mistake after mistake after mistake. Throw in about five more of those mistakes.

Newell-Fonda took advantage of a state tournament record eight Remsen St. Mary’s errors by scoring 11 unearned runs to win 14-1 in the first round of the Class 1A state softball tournament on Monday at Rogers Park in Fort Dodge.
